Every social media manager worth her salt has a Social Media Content Calendar that she swears by as her social media posting bible.
It’s THE key document in your media strategy because it holds all the what, where, when, why and how of your inbound content designed to engage, enliven and inform your audience.
Content Calendars take many forms: They can be actual calendars with posts entered as events, elaborate SAS management software and super basic Excel spreadsheets.
This is the actual Content Calendar I use for Little Gay Book
As a the leading lesbian matchmaking company, Little Gay Book seeks to create happy, loving and healthy long term relationships between lesbian and bisexual women. Our strategy for that includes monthly email newsletters, regular blog posts, book and study reviews relevant to our target market and lots and lots of tweets on lesbian love advice.
I like using the simple Excel file because I can sort, organize, reformat and report info quickly and easily. It allows me to see all the postings at once, change entries quickly and sort the way I need to.
What do you use as a Content Calendar? If you downloaded my version, leave me a comment to let me know how it works for you!
